ten cards. make them belong together. · two to four

  1. 1

    The goal

Group your ten cards into melds — runs of the same suit, or sets of the same rank. Cards left over are deadwood. Less is better.

  2. 2

    Draw

On your turn, take one card — from the deck (unknown) or the discard pile (known, but everyone sees you take it).

  3. 3

    Discard

End your turn by placing one card face-up on the pile. Keep what builds melds; let the deadwood go.

  4. 4

    Knock — or go Gin

When your deadwood totals 10 points or less, you may knock to end the hand. Meld all ten and it's Gin — a 25-point bonus.
